About Us

The Calling of an Engineer, or Obligation Ceremony, is administered by an organization called The Corporation of the Seven Wardens Inc. The original seven wardens, back in 1922 at the beginning, were seven past presidents of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). The Corporation is responsible for administering and maintaining The Calling of an Engineer across Canada, co-opts Camps in various locations near schools that have CEAB accredited engineering programs.

The Wardens of Camp 15, Waterloo organize annual ceremonies using the facilities of Conestoga College and the University of Waterloo.  Ceremonies are conducted for all graduating students (candidates) of accredited engineering programs as well as for senior/other candidates who are members of a provincial licensing association.  All qualified candidates are invited to participate in the Ceremony and do so on a voluntary basis.  Outside welcoming qualified engineers to the profession, Camp 15 and the Corporation choose to remain private.
